FAQ
I specialize in Newborn, Maternity and Family Photography, but I welcome any opportunity to use my camera. I also enjoy photographing families with older children, couples, business profiles for social media, and capturing your celebrations like birthdays, Communion, Christenings etc.
For now I do all sessions in my clients homes or in outdoor settings when the weather is agreeble. My studio is in preparation and I hope we will open soon.
I have several spots to recommend in Ireland and Poland, it depends on the season. It can be on the beach, in the forest, grassy fields, sunflower/lavender fields, Botanic Gardens or citys. I’m also open to clients suggestions so if you have any favourite places, we can discuss these before your session and choose the best place to achieve your vision.
In Ireland it’s kind of hit or miss with the weather. If it’s a cloudy day, your session can still be done, but if we have really bad weather, we will have to reschedule the session for the next suitable day for both of us.
In general, the reccomended time is no later than 13 days after birth. This is because in the first couple of weeks, babies are often naturally in the ‘curly’ pose like they are still in Mommy’s womb which results in beautiful photos. However, based on my experience I would say it’s a different story with very tiny premature babies. They photograph better when they get a gain some weight up to 20 days old or approx 3kg in weight.
The best time to contact me is when you’re pregnant and you know when your due date is. Then I can make a note in my calendar and plan to do your session within a few weeks of this date. Once you confirm me that your baby has been born we cant hen arrange a specific date, place and time.
If your baby has been born already, you can always contact me for last minute availability. There is always a chance that I have some spots free in my calendar.
Every single chapter of your baby’s life is worth being captured. If your baby is past the newborn stage we can arrange a lifestyle session in your home or an outdoor setting. I can still capture your baby during breastfeeding, playing with parents or siblings or being in their parents arms. We can also wait until your baby is sitting by itself and I can do photos just with the baby, for example a smash cake session for one year old.
What you wear for a session is very important. If it’s a family session, it is important for all members of family to be dressed in a similar style and colour. Clothes should be plain with no design/prints/characters. In my experience the most beautiful results are seen when clients are styled in colours like beige, white/ecru, brown, mustard or ochre. Natural textures, woolen jumpers and accessories like hat are very welcome. For maternity I would reccomend oversized dresses, laced cardigans or nice underwear. It also depends where we are going to shoot the session and what kind of session we are doing. For example red is very appropriate for a Christmas session, but not the most suitable for a newborn sessioin. Of course I’m open to discussing these details before your session.
I started to photograph newborn and maternity sessions during my studies, when I was 25, approximately 8 years ago. The first newborns I photographed are now going to school!
I send a digital version of the photographs after every session to my clients, so you have unlimited access to print the images in any quantity or size. By special request I can also print them in A4 size.
Within 10 days of the session I will send you miniatures copies of all the photographs taken and you can choose your favourites for further editing. The editing time of the images is 4 – 6 weeks (urgent editing within 4 days will incur an additional cost of €50 / 200zl in Poland). After this time you will receive your files through a link in high resolution ready to print/share.
